Cuomo administration inked $21M contract with recruitment firm

Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo confirmed Tuesday that the state has a $21 million contract with a recruitment firm to hire people for his administration.

Cuomo tried to downplay the contract during a radio interview, saying that $21 million was the maximum that Datrose, a Rochester company, could receive over the life of the five-year pact. The company has so far received about $165,000 since the contract was signed in May, the governor said on The Capitol Pressroom, a public radio talk show.

The Daily News first reported the contract Tuesday.

Cuomo contended his administration has had trouble filling spots because state government salaries aren’t attractive.
