Esposito creates state Senate fundraising committee
Adrienne Esposito has not announced her candidacy for state Senate, but the environmental activist has formed a fundraising committee with the state Board of Elections in Albany.
Esposito, who is not registered as a member of any political party, has been considering running on the Democratic line in the Third District against Conservative Islip Town board member Anthony Senft, who has GOP backing.
Esposito, executive director of Citizens Campaign for the Environment, declined to comment on the filing of the “Friends of Adrienne Esposito Committee,” which lists her campaign treasurer as Mary Ellen Dour-Hill, of Babylon.
Democratic Party officials said Joseph Fritz, an attorney active in the party, also has expressed interest in running for Senate and has met with Suffolk Democratic leader Richard Schaffer.
