Ex-Nassau deputy CE's consulting totalled $56G for Suffolk
Tom Stokes, Nassau’s former fiscal deputy county executive who demurred taking a similar post in the Bellone administration, has taken in $56,075 in consulting fees from Suffolk since April.
Billings, obtained through freedom of informaton law, show that Stokes' consulting firm Tudor Lexington, based out of his Center Moriches home, received $200 an hour for 213.25 hours or little over five weeks of Stokes' labors. Stokes also billed $50 an hour for an aide who worked 268.5 hours. The monthly bills ranged from a high of $10,125 in November to a low $3,550 in June.
Stokes, former BNassau County Executive Tom Suozzi’s chief fiscal aide, resigned from the Nassau Interim Finance Authority in March to take the part-time post of “senior advisor” to Bellone which could have paid up to $125,000 a year for his services. Stokes, a Republican is also full-time chief finance officer for Weill Cornell Imaging at New York Presbyterian Hospital.
“He’s been an invaluable advisor to the performance management team providing a lot of good strategic guidance from his years of experience in municipal finance," said a Bellone spokesman.
