Huntington: Sen. Flanagan discusses town-supervisor bid with GOP leader
State Sen. John Flanagan met over the weekend with Huntington Republican Chairwoman Toni Tepe, but did not give her a final answer on whether he will run for town supervisor.
Flanagan met with the party leader at her home Saturday for more than a half hour, where the two discussed a potential race against long-time Democratic incumbent Frank Petrone.
“I felt very good about our discussion,” said Tepe. “Nothing’s been decided, but he said he still looking at the possibility and how to work the situation.”
Tepe had earlier asked Flanagan to make a decision by April 1 so that if he decided not to run, the party would still have the time to assemble a competitive ticket. Tepe said she and Flanagan have not yet set a date when to meet again.
