Lawyers' group touts 3 candidates for NY top court

Somewhat below the political radar, the clock is ticking on Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s deadline to select a new judge for New York’s highest court.
The Democrat has until Jan. 15 to name a replacement for Carmen Ciparick who has reached the mandatory retirement age. Ciparick is the lone Hispanic on the seven-judge state Court of Appeals.
