Nassau fee to Mondello firm draws fire from top Dem
The Republican-controlled Rules Committee of the Nassau County legislature is expected on Monday to approve a $275,000 increase to a contract for the law firm where Nassau Republican Chairman Joseph Mondello is counsel. That will hike the total fee paid to Berkman, Henoch, Peterson, Peddy & Fenchel to $475,000 for defending the county in a lawsuit accusing police of using excessive force.
