New fizzle in Nassau 'Tax Revolt'
Another Republican candidate is off the "Tax Revolt" party line in Nassau in November. A court referee on Friday found that Republican Joseph Belesi, who is challenging incumbent Legis. David Mejias (D-Farmingdale), did not have enough valid signatures to qualify for the independent party ballot line.
Republicans withdrew the Tax Revolt petitions for Chris Browne, who is challenging incumbent Legis. Joseph Scannell (D-Baldwin), after Democrats alleged they were permeated with fraud.
