Obama visits school, raises money in NYC Friday

President Barack Obama is headed back to New York City on Friday, to highlight the need for technological education with a visit to a Brooklyn school and to raise money to help Democrats running for seats in the U.S. House next year, the White House said Monday.

During the day, Obama will visit P-TECH -- Pathways in Technology Early College High School. It's a collaboration between the New York public school system, City University of New York and IBM. Students graduate with a high school degree and an associate degree in computers or engineering. Obama highlighted it during his State of the Union address this year.

Friday evening, Obama will raise money for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, which is chaired by Rep. Steve Israel (D-Huntington).

A White House official said it would release more details on the trip to NYC later.
