Old hands on new ABLI task force

There's lots of familiar names in Nassau politics on the new Coliseum task force formed by the Association for a Better Long Island.

Aiming to come up with new options for developing the Coliseum and its surrounding 77 acres, members of the task force, dubbed Clean Start include:

Oyster Bay Town Supervisor John Venditto, a Republican; North Hempstead Town Supervisor Jon Kaiman, a Democrat; labor leader; John Duffy, of the Public Works Alliance.

Former Republican Assemb. Marc Herbst, now executive director of the Long Island Contractors' Association; Oyster Bay Town Planning Commissioner Fred Ippolito.

Past executive director of the Long Island Regional Planning Council Michael White; Islanders' great Bobby Nystrom; economist Thomas Conoscenti; former Hempstead Town Presiding Supervisor Gregory Peterson, a Republican; and former Congressman David Levy, a Republican, now Hempstead Town counsel.
