Polls show Cuomo job ratings down

Lost amid comparisons to potential Republican challengers, recent polls showed a sharp decline in Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo’s approval rating, which has dropped 10 percentage points since November to 42 percent of registered voters, according to the NBC 4 New York/Wall Street Journal/Marist Poll. That’s the lowest rating in the Marist poll since Cuomo took office in 2011.

Cuomo downplayed the poll.

“What happened since November?” the governor said on a radio program. “I have no idea.”

A Siena College survey released Feb. 25 had a similar trend; it said the Democrat’s rating was 48 percent, a 6 percentage-point drop in one month.
