Republican senators to huddle Tuesday in Albany

Senate Republicans are meeting Tuesday at the State Capitol.

There’s no official word yet on the purpose, though it’s likely about planning for the 2013 session — including spelling out for rank-and-file members exactly how the new Senate governing coalition will operate.

This will be the first gathering of the 30 Republicans since Senate Majority Leader Dean Skelos (R-Rockville Centre) and Sen. Jeff Klein (D-Bronx), leader of a group of breakaway Democrats, announced an alliance that will give the coalition 36 members — enough to control the 63-seat chamber.
