Ex-Nassau Executive Tom Suozzi’s comeback campaign, so far ignoring criticism from rival fellow Democrat Adam Haber, announced 10 intra-party endorsements on Friday -- with County Democratic chairman Jay Jacobs saying that “over the next few weeks our party will unite” behind Suozzi.

The endorsers, none of them surprises, were: William Biamonte, Town of Hempstead leader, David Gugerty,  Town of Oyster Bay leader, Ann Famigliette, Glen Cove city leader, Michael Zapson, Long Beach city leader, Kevan Abrahams, legislative minority leader, and legislators Carrie Solages, Joseph Scannell, Judy Jacobs, Delia DeRiggi-Whitton and Dave Denenberg.

Jacobs said in a statement: “This continues to be an ongoing process, but it is my firm belief that over the next few weeks our party will unite behind Tom Suozzi. With a strong and unified organization we will be able to focus our energy on defeating (incumbent Ed) Mangano and the GOP Machine this fall.”

Suozzi is quoted in the statement saying: “I am extremely grateful for the support of so many Democratic leaders and elected officials and I look forward to working with them throughout this campaign to create our shared vision for the future of Nassau.”
