The Clinton-Nixon connection
It's New York, it' DC, its the Clintons (D) and Nixons (R ).
To mark the 40th anniversary of President Richard Nixon’s historic trip to China, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton at a DC event last week praised the “Nixon-Cox families,” in particular Tricia Cox, Nixon’s daughter and wife of Ed Cox, the New York GOP chairman. Ed Cox told Newsday he cherished the day and Clinton’s remarks.
That’s the same Clinton who worked for Nixon's impeachment and who was vilified by the GOP as First Lady. But Cox pointed out that last summer Clinton attended the wedding of his son Christopher Cox, the failed 1st District Republican candidate, to Andrea Catsimatidis, daughter of prominent Democratic political fund-raiser John Catsimatidis.
