Nassau’s 2013 online contracts now can be sorted by the viewing public, according to a spokesman for County Comptroller George Maragos.

For the first time ever in Nassau, Maragos this week posted Nassau’s 2013 contracts online, listing them by vendor name, amount and description of work on his public Facebook page.

The initial version was not sortable or searchable, but Maragos spokesman Jostyn Hernandez said the listing was a work in progress with the intention of expanding the information available and making it more user friendly.

On Friday, Hernandez said the comptroller's Facebook page now has a link that will allow viewers to sort the contracts. Paid claims should be added soon, he said.

“Every  single day we want to make it better,” he said.
