Republican Congressional candidate Bruce Blakeman, who has claimed in TV ads his primary opponent in the 4th C.D., Frank Scaturro, is not a real conservative, responded to Deroy Murdock's earlier-posted National Review piece dissecting the allegation. Here's his campaign's statement via spokesman Matt Coleman:

"Bruce Blakeman is the only conservative Republican candidate who can beat the Democrat and win in November.  Bruce is the Republican, Conservative and Independence endorsed candidate.  He has also been endorsed by National Review contributing editor & economist Larry Kudlow as well as former conservative Republican presidential candidate Steve Forbes.  Frank Scaturro's baseless, last minute Hail Mary attacks show voters just how desperate he and his campaign really are."
