ALBANY -- Republican John Cahill faces a race for attorney general ahead of him, but first he has a real race.
Cahill, 55, of Yonkers plans to compete in his fourth Ironman competition Sunday in Lake Placid. The route includes a 2.4-mile swim in Mirror Lake, a 112-mile bicycle race and a marathon run of 26.2 miles.
About 2,800 competitors are expected.
"The Ironman is a great event for the Lake Placid area, you meet great people from the region and around the world,” said Cahill, a former top aide to Gov. George Pataki.
Cahill faces Democratic Attorney General Eric T. Schneiderman of Manhattan.
