An A T & T official unintentionally created an awkward moment at last Friday’s Long Island Association county executive summit when he thanked County Executive Steve Bellone for meeting with him on cell tower issues at a Panera Bread restaurant

When he heard a wave of giggles from the audience of 600, he added, ”I’m sorry. I guess that is a sore spot for you.” He was referring to a Newsday story last year where some complained privately that Bellone spent much time out of the ofice, often holding meetings in local restaurants including the Panera Bread outlet in North Babylon not far from his home.
