A day before Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano took off for his golf fundraiser in South Carolino, his top aides were already asking supporters to contribute to a new money-making event for their boss.
On Tuesday afternoon, Chief Deputy County Executive Rob Walker sent out a private blast email just before 3 p.m. -- according to several copies forwarded to Newsday -- asking folks to “Join us for a 50th Birthday Celebration for Ed Mangano.”
The party on March 20 at the Columbus Club at the Columbus Citizens Foundation Townhouse in Manhattan, costs $1,500 a person, according to the e-mailed invitation, paid for by the county executive’s campaign committee “Friends of Ed Mangano.”
For more information about the party, the invitation instructed folks to contact Mangano aide Brian Nevin, his chief spokesman, at a private email.
