U.S. House Speaker John Boehner will venture to St. James next month to raise money for Republican Randy Altschuler.
Boehner (R-Ohio) will join state GOP chairman Ed Cox and Altschuler at the home of Steve and Carolyn Louro for the event. Tickets run from $250 to $1,000 (“VIP photo opportunity”) to $5,000 (“VIP private roundtable”). Altschuler is currently 13 percentage points behind Rep. Tim Bishop (D-Southampton), according to the latest poll.
A day later, Boehner will lead a fundraiser for Rep. Michael Grimm (R-Staten Island) — where tickets go as high as $12,500. And, just a few days earlier on Oct. 6, Boehner will do the same for Republican Chris Collins in Western New York; Collins’ tickets top out at $10,000.
Altschuler, Grimm and Collins represent three of the eight congressional races in New York considered “in play” by both parties. It’s not the first swing through New York for Boehner, who has been crisscrossing the country to raise money for GOP candidates.
