Where – and would – Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo be an effective campaigner for President Barack Obama?

Cuomo said that the president’s re-election team has asked him to travel outside New York to stump for his fellow Democrat in the final weeks of the race against Republican Mitt Romney. But it’s not clear where, when and how often the New York governor would campaign.

Ohio, Virginia, Nevada and Pennsylvania are just some of the swing states still up for grabs. And Florida – which might make the most sense for deploying Cuomo. After all, there are a lot of retired New Yorkers who now call Florida home, some who might fondly remember Mario Cuomo. And the governor’s Queens accent might not seem so foreign in the Sunshine State as, say, Ohio.
