Last year’s Republican candidate for Nassau district attorney, Joy Watson, is joining the staff of Republican Nassau Comptroller George Maragos.
She starts Friday as the $130,000-a-year deputy comptroller of audits and special projects, Maragos’s office said.
She replaces Aline Khatchadourian, who will be moving to the staff of County Executive Edward Mangano, the comptroller said.
Barely four months into his stint in a public office, Maragos has been making the political rounds as he considers a challenge to Democratic U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer.
