Gerry Petrella, a top aide to Sen. Charles Schumer, is moving on to become a vice president at the SKDKnickerbocker consulting and communications firm in Washington D.C.
Petrella, a native of North Massapequa, was the regional director in Schumer’s Long Island office before serving as a policy aide in the senator’s Washington office.
Schumer’s office credits Petrella as primary author of, and a key player in passing, the Hurricane Sandy relief bill.
Other former Schumer staffers at the firm: Managing partner Josh Isay and senior vice president Michael Morey.
