To nobody's surprise, but for the first time, Joe Lhota said in a public forum that he is running for mayor. He was appearing before a construction industry group at a luncheon where he will be looking to raise funds.

"I would not have left the MTA, a job and position I loved, if I was not going to run for mayor of New York," Lhota is quoted by the Post's Dave Seifman as saying earlier today.
