A day after prosecutors confiscated his town computers, Brookhaven Town board member Steve Fiore-Rosenfeld appeared before the town Democratic screening committee seeking renomination.

Democratic chairman Anthony Parlatore said Fiore-Rosenfeld, of East Setauket, appeared Thursday and told the committee he has done nothing wrong. “They seem to be satisfied with his answers,” Parlatore said. “Right now he’s our candidate. He’s been an extremely effective candidate and superb representing the people of the first district.”

The committee will make its recommendations before the party convention in May. Parlatore said no other candidates have come forward to oppose the incumbent.
A source said the probe is centered on use of town computers and town-owned equipment to circulate nominating petitions.
