ALBANY - Former presidential candidate Rick Santorum will deliver a keynote address in Albany later this month to an evangelical lobby group.

On March 17, Santorum will address New Yorker's Family Research Foundation, “the statewide organization that informs New York's evangelical Christian community on matters of public policy,” according to the group’s press release.

Rev. Jason McGuire, the group’s executive director, hailed the “privilege of welcoming a nationally-known conservative political figure,” and called Santorum a “stalwart defender of human life and strong families.”

Santorum is a former two-term Pennsylvania senator who badly lost re-election in 2006. He ran for the Republican presidential nomination in 2012. Appealing to party conservatives, he won some early states but lost to eventual GOP nominee Mitt Romney.
