State and Nassau Democratic chairman Jay Jacobs, legislative minority leader Diane Yatauro and Hempstead Mayor Wayne Hall are doing a "meet and greet" this evening  at the Hempstead Library with Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand. She, on an official trip, was due to meet in Suffolk with a minority officials' group today -- after it became evident that ex-Rep. Harold Ford Jr. is running against her in a primary.
