Jay Jacobs, the Nassau County Democratic chairman, said he couldn’t make the daylong Manhattan event last Tuesday sponsored by the Ready for Hillary superpac urging Hillary Clinton to jump into the 2016 presidential race.
“I am happy to help them out, and, of course, am committed to Hillary Clinton if she decides to run,” said Jacobs, who has chipped in $5,000 to the superpac. “But I think we have to give her time to make that decision.”
Jacobs said, “From my conversations with her, she’s focused a lot time on the foundation, on writing a book, and on catching up with old friends.” While he wants her to run, he also says it’s early -- President Barack Obama hasn’t even finished his first year of his second term. “She’ll make her decision the right way for the right reasons at right time,” Jacobs said.
