Republican Frank Scaturro of Hempstead has been making the rounds as he revs up his campaign against Democratic U.S. Rep. Carolyn McCarthy of Garden City.

Most of the Congressional attention on Long Island this year has focused on the 1st CD, where Republican Randy Altschuler is making a serious run against incumbent Democrat Timothy Bishop.

But keep an eye on Scaturro in the 4th CD. He has a fund-raiser next week in Washington, D.C. to boost his treasury, which stood at $102,489 at the end of the third quarter of last year, according to his campaign and the Web side of the Center for Responsive Politics.
