Veteran lobbyist Bob Malito has joined with lawyer and politico Brad Gerstman in the firm now known as Gerstman Schwartz & Malito, its principals have announced. That entity is associated with Gotham Government Relations & Communications in Garden City and Manhattan.
Attorney Laura Dilimetin also has joined the firm, it was announced.
Until 2012, Malito was associated with the firm formerly known as Davidoff Malito & Hutcher, which is now Davidoff Hutcher & Citron.
The announcement via Brad Gerstman states:
Bob Malito has a distinguished history in the politics of NYC and NY State. He was formerly Legislative Assistant to New York Mayor John V. Lindsay, Director of Government Affairs for the New York City Economic Development Administration and Deputy Commissioner for Public Events, serving both Mayors Lindsay and Abraham Beame. He is a Carnegie Fellow, an Adjunct Professor at C.W. Post Graduate School of Public Administration, and a Member of the boards of trustees of Touro Law School and the National Center for Disability Services.
As an additional part of the firm’s expansion, Gerstman Schwartz & Malito, LLP is also pleased to announce the appointment of Laura Dilimetin, Esq. as another new partner. Ms. Dilimetin will bring a wealth of experience and significant legal knowledge as the new head of the firm’s litigation practice. She has over twenty-four years of successful litigation experience in all phases of trial work, with particular knowledge in the areas of corporate/commercial litigation, employment, real estate, general liability and criminal defense.
Laura M. Dilimetin was admitted to the bar in 1990, New York State and U.S. District Court, Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, and the Supreme Court of the United States of America. She was educated at Bucknell University (B.A. 1987) and St. John’s University School of Law (J.D. 1990). She is a member of the Theodore Roosevelt American Inn of Court, the Nassau County Bar Association, the National Employment Lawyers Association, the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, and the New York State Criminal Defenders Association. Ms.
Dilimetin also served as an Assistant District Attorney with the Brooklyn District Attorney’s Office.
The Gerstman Schwartz & Malito, LLP firm is, of course, not only well recognized for its legal representation. Its government relations arm, Gotham Government Relations & Communications, has become a major lobbying force in NY State, NYC and especially on Long Island where they bring an unparalleled level of local knowledge and policy acumen. Clearly, it is here with Gotham that Bob Malito’s political experience and knowledge will be a major asset to the firm’s ability to address the needs of any client looking to gain understanding as well as access to key decision makers and government officials.
Complementing this expansion effort is the promotion of Ms. Diane Cahill to Vice President of Government Relations for Gotham. Prior to her new position, she served as Political Director. Ms. Cahill is a seasoned government relations and communications strategist, with a focus on education, programs and services for individuals with special needs and their families.
