Lincoln is a personal favorite of the new county executive, Edward Mangano, who concluded his inaugural speech on New Year’s Day with: "Abe Lincoln once said, 'Whatever you are, be a good one.' I promise to be a good one."

A display case in the same spot featuring Teddy Roosevelt, for whom the building is named, has disappeared. Teddy Roosevelt was a personal favorite of Tom Suozzi, who lost to Mangano.
