Legis. Jon Cooper is the first Suffolk Democrat to host a local fundraiser for Attorney General Andrew Cuomo, presumed candidate for governor, since County Executive Steve Levy went Republican.

The $250-a-head event is April 26 in Cooper's Lloyd Harbor home. Guests pay $500 to be a Cuomo "friend," or $1,000 as a "supporter," or $10,000 to become an event "chair."

Cooper said when Cuomo aides called him shortly after would-be governor Levy's switch, he replied: "Where do I sign up?"

Invites to Levy's annual golf outing at Cherry Creek in Riverhead hit mailboxes at the same time last week. An individual plays for $750; a foursome $2,500 and a sponsor, $10,000. Donors get names on a golf cart for $200.

Tomorrow, Cuomo headlines the Suffolk Democratic dinner at Villa Lombardi's in Holbrook.
