Attention Albany: your own U.S. senator is laughing at you.

Democratic U.S. Sen. Charles Schumer was in Garden City Park on Monday, sketching out his ideas for a federal jobs-creating, energy-saving effort called “Cash for Caulkers.”

“And finally,I’m asking that the funding not go to Albany,” he said dragging out the pronunciation to make it seem like three separate word: All-ban-ee, as his audience tittered and guffawed.

“I’m asking that the funding go directly to the locality and municipality... because Albany loses the money, takes a cut of the money, or somehow redirects the money so that Long Island and other places that need it never get it.”
