Suffolk Legis. Thomas Cilmi is lashing out at Assemb. Philip Ramos (D-Central Islip) for waging a “personal vendetta” against Belinda Alvarez-Groneman by trying to knock her off the Suffolk Community College board of trustees.

“He has no reason other than pure politics,” said Cilmi, simply because Groneman is a Republican. He said Groneman has more tirelessly in the community and with the college for the past five years.

Ramos last week said that he had recommended to Gov. David Paterson another name that he would not identify but other sources say is Theresa Sanders of the Urban League of Long Island.

Cilmi said if Groneman is not reappointed by Paterson, he will put forward her name for a vacancy that occurred last week with the resignation of Avetta Ware, a county legislative appointee.
