House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) has been added as a guest speaker at the Nassau County Democratic Committee’s annual spring dinner on March 31 at Crest Hollow Country Club in Woodbury.
The event will honor retiring Rep. Carolyn McCarthy (D-Mineola), a long-time political ally of Pelosi, the former speaker of the House.
Pelosi will be introduced by Rep. Steve Israel (D-Dix Hills), said Democratic Party Chairman Jay Jacobs. Also scheduled to attend are Reps. Charles Rangel of Harlem; Joe Crowley, Gregory Meeks and Grace Meng of Queens and Tim Bishop of Southampton.
Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo will headline the event, which Jacobs said will be attended by more than 1,200 guests. Tickets are $600.
