You normally wouldn’t say lickety-split and Nassau County Legislature in the same breath, but if you did, Thursday would have been the day to do it.

The Rules Committee breezed through its thin agenda in less than 45 minutes, and not a harsh word was publicly exchanged between the usually bickering Republicans and Democrats on the 19-member body.
