Rumors circulated that Hardwick, defeated by Robert Kennedy in a March 19 village election, would be hired by Mangano for a post in Nassau's Department of Parks, Recreation & Museums - where Hardwick worked under former county executive Thomas Suozzi. But a source close to Mangano said this week that "that's not on the horizon."

Kennedy will be sworn in as mayor on Monday.
