A political rally — Animal Lovers for Suozzi — set for Nassau County’s Eisenhower Park at noon Saturday is in limbo.
The county’s Republican administration advised former Democratic County Executive Thomas Suozzi, who is challenging his successor, Edward Mangano, to cancel the event.
In a letter, County Attorney John Ciampoli told Suozzi and two Town of Hempstead Democrats that since they had not sought a permit for a park event they should not hold it.
“If, in the future, you wish to have an event at Eisenhower Park or another County facility, please be so kind as to contact the Parks Department offices and apply for an appropriate permit,” Ciampoli’s letter said.
The Suozzi campaign, preparing for Tuesday’s Democratic primary against Adam Haber, an East Hills businessman and Roslyn school board member, declined to respond to queries about the issue.
