The Senate Republicans under Nassau's Dean Skelos appear quite unlikely to go through a difficult Senate recount without calling on lawyer John Ciampoli for help. As noted on a couple of occasions in this space, Ciampoli - who is Nassau’s county attorney in the Mangano administration - takes time off from his public day job when his skill as an election attorney is to be tapped by the party. He’s been a state GOP counsel in the past. So in recent days, as expected, Ciampoli has been spending some time in the newly drawn 46th S.D. in the Capital District, poring over ballots in a close make-or-break race between Republican Assemb. George Amedore and Democrat Cecilia Tkaczyk. The candidates in recent days have been separated by only a few hundred votes.
