The Web site of the MTA has a new name, Patrick J. Foye.

Foye, a deputy to Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano, was one of three names submitted to the governor in March for appointment to the MTA board .

The first word of the appointment came Wednesday from a keen-eyed Democrat, not from Republican Mangano or his aides. The MTA Web site says Foye was confirmed by the state Senate on May 25th for a term expiring June 30, 2015.

The quiet move mirrored Foye’s hiring in Mineola. He became an unpaid adviser at the beginning of the year, then was hired Feb. 16 as a $142,643-a-year deputy county executive for economic development.

However, Mangano aides had been saying as late as March 2nd that Foye had not been hired.
