On day-two of inductions to state judicial posts in Nassau County, the Village of Bayville, with a population of about 6,600, had two residents who were elected in November — Helene Gugerty to the County Court and Colin O’Donnell to the District Court.
Gugerty was sworn in by her husband, David, chief of staff to the Democratic Caucus of the Nassau County Legislature.
O’Donnell, a Republican, was sworn in by John Venditto, the GOP Supervisor of the Town of Oyster Bay, in which the village is located.
Sworn in to County Court was Teresa Corrigan of New Hyde Park, while Douglas Lerose of Syosset took his spot on District Court.
On Tuesday, Sondra Pardes of New Hyde Park was sworn in for State Supreme Court, as was Leonard Steinman of Glen Cove. Until December 31, Steinman was a member of the state’s Nassau County Interim Finance Authority, which controls the county’s finances.
