Spin Cycle

News, views and commentary on Long Island, state and national politics.

Just another example of how quickly things can change:

Upon taking over at LIPA in early 2007, the widely-acclaimed Kevin Law, now heading to the Long Island Association, was quoted as saying (fifth paragraph of this LIBN story) he'd bring a "Steve Levy-Eliot Spitzer kind of governing" to the utility by minimizing costs and cutting waste. Law had been a deputy to the Suffolk executive. These days the two politicians' names aren't voluntarily linked much, as Levy tries to run for governor on the Republican line. But it should also be noted that Levy has Republican John Faso, who ran against Spitzer, supporting him for the GOP nomination.
