In New York’s 27 newly-drawn Congressional districts, male Democrats Sean Patrick Maloney and Dan Maffei unseated two female GOP incumbents, Rep. Nan Hayworth in the Hudson Valley and Rep. Ann Marie Buerkle in central New York.

Meanwhile one female Democrat, Kathy Hochul, was defeated by a male Republican, Chris Collins, in western New York.

Long Island's only female Congressional incumbent, Democrat Carolyn McCarthy, above, won.
