Remember how, just a few months ago, many analysts worried that New York liberals would abandon President Barack Obama this year? Maybe it’s still possible, but Steven Greenberg of the Siena Poll thinks not. “Obama is doing great with the liberals,” he said, citing his April poll. Among self-identified liberals, it shows, 89 percent had a favorable view of Obama -- up from 80 percent in November -- and 74 percent rated his job performance good or excellent, a bigger jump from 58 percent in November. But liberals never really abandoned Obama. In both the April and November polls, three-quarters of them said they’d vote to re-elect him.
