Spin Cycle

News, views and commentary on Long Island, state and national politics.

The following was buried in a Spin Cycle item posted last week. Given Steve Levy’s switcheroo from Democrat to Republican, it feels a bit more relevant:

Mata, who lives in Levittown, is with the Suffolk County Hispanic Advisory Board and is a $52,500-a-year project director for Mangano's Office of Minority Affairs.

A spokesman for Mangano said Mata was on his own time when he arranged the event.”

[The spokesman added this Friday that Mangano has taken no position on the governor’s race.\]
