Republican Michael Montesano is actually using the word “Republican” on his campaign literature, listing his “Republican-Independence-Conservative” endorsement.

Most Nassau Republicans kept the word “Republican” off their campaign literature last year, preferring to tell voters to “Vote Row B.”

Montesano, a Glen Head resident with a law practice in Glen Cove, is running in a special election Feb. 9th to fill the state Assembly seat vacated by Rob Walker, who stepped down to become chief deputy to Nassau County Executive Edward Mangano.
