A Nassau County van with official plates was spotted unloading outside the county clerk’s office last week, with a campaign bumper sticker for County Executive Edward Mangano clearly visible on the inside of one of the open doors.
Mangano, a Republican, is running for re-election this fall against former County Executive, Democrat Thomas Suozzi.
Mangano spokesman Brian Nevin said, “Clearly this is an overly enthusiastic supporter. We will reiterate our policy which bans political signs on government property.”
But another Mangano official quipped, “We should fire the guy. The sticker is facing inside.”
