Suffolk Leg.: Eight screened to succeed Romaine on GOP line

Republicans screened eight potential contenders last week to run for the county legisature vacancy left by Edward Romaine’s election as Brookhaven supervisor.

Those screened included Riverhead Supervisor Sean Walter, Riverhead town board members Jody Giglio and John Dunlevy, James Saladino, a Conservative who is law clerk to State Supreme Court Justice James Hudson, Catherine Stark, aide to legis. Jay Schneiderman (I-Montauk), Romaine’s aide William Faulk, tea party activist Frank Seabrook and former town board member Edward Densieski.

John Jay LaValle, Suffolk Republican chairman, said a final GOP nominee should be selected this week.
