Suffolk: Rep. Israel hires Horst from Bellone office

Katie Horst, part of a local power couple who are a local version of James Carville and Mary Matalin, has left the Bellone administration to become district director for Rep. Steve Israel (D-Dix Hills).

Horst, a Democrat who had worked for the past year as a county executive assistant, joined Israel’s staff last month.

Horst is married to Bill Faulk, a long-time legislative aide to Edward Romaine when was a county lawmaker. When Romaine became Brookhaven Supervisor, Faulk became an executive assistant in the Brookhaven Planning Department.

Faulk is also currently a GOP contender for the nomination for the First Assembly District seat recently vacated by new Brookhaven Highway Superintendent Dan Losquadro.
