Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy — a/k/a Republican gubernatorial hopeful Steve Levy — got a polite reception Tuesday night when he spoke to about 250 activists in Nassau County.

“There were some tough questions, but he took them and answered them,” Paul Kosowski of the Nassau Civic Association said after the session at the Plainview-Bethpage Library.

The event was co-sponsored the Conservative Society for Action and the Nassau County TEA Party Patriots, and had a decidedly anti-tax mood, several of the attendees said.
