Tom Suozzi may be gone from active political life, but he doesn’t want to be forgotten.

A former political aide to Suozzi called a Newsday reporter Tuesday morning to mention that there should be a news release out soon about Suozzi’s new job as a “senior advisor” at Lazard Ltd., the investment banking giant.

That night, there was a mass e-mail from his old — maybe not so old — Web address with a copy of the news release attached.

Suozzi said in late December, after he was defeated in his attempt at a third term as Nassau County executive, that he's unlikely to run for local or county office again, but he didn’t rule out state or federal office.
